database strategyLooking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from Australian Catholic University to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.
Students in this program/course will learn foundational knowledge and practical skills in database design and implementation. They will develop their skills in identifying and modeling organizational information requirements; developing conceptual data models and verifying their structural characteristics with normalization techniques; implementing a database using a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) and Structured Query Language (SQL). In addition, the course introduces database administration activities and ethical considerations in handling organizational data.
Deliverables are negotiable and will seek to align the needs of the students and the organization.
Some final project deliverables might include:
- Conceptual design: A detailed report including data/information requirement research, logical data model using entity relationship diagram (ERD)
- Physical design: the database schema
