The Green Career Centre’s mission is to prepare underrepresented youth for green careers. With a focus on supporting BIPOC, newcomers and women, the Green Career Centre works by and for these communities to bridge the gap between equitable, accessible and transparent social and environmental employment opportunities. With a climate justice lens and through ongoing consultations and focus groups, the Green Career Centre bridges the disconnect between these underserved communities and green careers in sustainability. We offer resources, events, and a strong network of support in order to integrate underserved communities into the green labour market in what is currently Canada.

Deliverables

The project includes these key tasks and responsibilities:


Webinar Development:

  • Researching, selecting and liaising with engaging speakers in Canada within the green career development field
  • Creating content for the webinar, including slides, script, and Q&A points
  • Conducting outreach to organizations to promote the webinar via email outreach and social media campaigns
  • Developing online marketing collateral and campaigns for our events 
  • Attending our events and assisting with the logistics on the day of the event
  • Gathering, tracking and reporting quantitative and qualitative data for green career projects in line with our funders’ expectations (i.e. via pre and post event surveys)
  • Managing email and ticket registration management via Eventbrite


Youth Green Jobs Network Management:

  • Managing our Youth Green Jobs Network by approving underrepresented youth and employers to join the group and sharing with them a welcome message
  • Sourcing entry-level green job opportunities and sharing postings in our Youth Green Jobs Network as well as our round-ups reels and posts on Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Liaising with employers in our network to give them one complimentary green job posting and collect testimonials for our website, social media, impact report and other marketing channels
