data preprocessing statistical modeling consultingThe Student Statistical Consultant Program aims to provide practical hands-on experience to the students by engaging them in real-world consulting projects. This program serves as a bridge between theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom and applying statistical methodologies to address practical problems raised by clients. Student consultants will work on a variety of projects, collaborating with internal/external clients to deliver actionable insights.
The student consultant will
- Prepare meeting agendas and minutes for meetings with clients.
- Clean and preprocess data of consulting projects as needed.
- Use tables, numerical summaries, and figures to understand the characteristics of the data.
- Conduct basic hypothesis tests to explore the associations between variables of interest.
- Apply appropriate statistical models to analyze the data.
- Prepare reports summarizing the analysis, results, and recommendations.
I will meet the student consultant before and after each meeting with the clients. The student can contact me whenever she has any questions and we can meet either virtually or in person. I will discuss and supervise the statistical analysis the student consultant conducts.
