The Starfish Canada is seeking 2 writers to write 3 articles each covering the 2025 Top 25 Panel Webinar Series in The Starfish Youth Journal.  Every year, The Starfish Canada showcases our Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25 through a question-and-answer article series in our national youth journal, but this year, we want to also create a conversation by inviting the winners to talk in a panel discussion. This 6 part discussion panel series will provide the material for a 6 part article series for our Youth Journal, which will be published from February-June 2025.

The objective is to create engaging and informative content that highlights key discussions and insights from the webinars, as well as spotlight our Top 25 Environmentalists under 25 winners. The interns will be responsible for attending three webinars each, taking detailed notes, and crafting articles that capture the discussion from each webinar in a creative and engaging way for our readers. This project provides an opportunity for students to apply their skills in journalism, content creation, and digital media, as well as enhance their understanding of environmental issues and youth engagement. The project is designed to be completed within 80 hours, focusing on content creation, editing, and publication.

The project deliverables include 3 well-written articles (800-1000 words each) per intern capturing the main themes and discussions from the webinars. The final deliverables should be polished and ready for publication, demonstrating the interns' ability to produce professional-quality content.

We will connect the interns to an editor to help them with direct editing and feedback on the articles. The interns will also have weekly check-ins with the Editor-in-Chief starting in February 2025 in order for the Editorial Leadership Team to provide consistent feedback and support. We will provide the interns with a timeline and schedule of deadlines for the articles to stay organized and on track. The articles will be published in The Starfish Canada’s Youth Journal. Our Editorial Leadership Team at The Starfish Canada is here to support the intern from day one of this internship with anything they need. Our main form of communication is through both email and our online Slack channel, Monday through Thursday, 9am to 4pm, EST.
