Goal

The Goal of this project is to create a record of private and public companies, which aim at conducting their business successfully, whilst having a positive social impact on the community.

The Research will include

Step 1

Discovering the listings of private and public companies in all the stock-trading countries.

Step 2

Grouping the companies into those that:

  • Clearly state that they aim at a positive social impact
  • Imply that they are supporting societal benefit
  • Could be benefiting the society in a positive fashion, but are not concerned in promoting that aspect of their business
  • The rest

Step 3

Identifying the leading/successful public companies in each group, and later assessing the eligibility of the top 60 to be listed on the Social Stock exchange

Step 4

Recognizing the private companies in each group, which are considering/might consider an IPO, and later assessing the eligibility of the top companies to be listed on the Social Stock Exchange

Social impact oriented ventures/mission driven ventures that have transformational impact potential. From a finance perspective they need to have market size potential beyond only a niche level such that they could one day possibly go public they continue to grow in traction over time. So it could be companies that within the next three years might go public, and it also can include social ventures that may not go public for nine years. But we want them to have a commitment to in the future including diverse retail investors in due course.
