The main goal for the Forest Carbon Analyst Internship project is to support Aviot Industries' commitment to sustainable investing and to contribute to our efforts to combat climate change by providing analysis of forest carbon sequestration potential in our portfolio companies. The successful candidate will work closely with our investment and sustainability teams to identify opportunities to enhance our portfolio's environmental performance and assist in the value chain process of carbon credit acquistion.

1. Conducting comprehensive research on forest carbon sequestration potential and carbon credit markets in emerging economies, such as Brazil, China, and India.
2. Analyzing and interpreting forest carbon data from various sources, including satellite imagery and on-site field measurements, to assess the carbon sequestration potential of our portfolio companies' forest assets.
3. Developing forest carbon sequestration models and estimating carbon credits potential in line with relevant regulatory frameworks and market standards.
4. Identifying and assessing emerging carbon credit market opportunities and potential risks, and developing strategies to leverage those opportunities and mitigate those risks.
5. Collaborating with other Aviot Industries' departments, such as the sustainability team, to integrate the forest carbon analysis results into the overall sustainability strategy of our portfolio companies.

The Forest Carbon Analyst Intern will have a dedicated mentor for guidance, access to a range of resources including data sets and software, work closely with investment and sustainability teams to ensure alignment with Aviot's objectives, attend industry events for professional development, receive regular feedback, and have networking opportunities with professionals in sustainability and investment fields.
