Details

The sports industry is increasingly seeking sustainable alternatives to traditional materials, which are often petroleum-based and environmentally harmful. Air Mood's AIRGONOMIK cushion offers a promising solution by utilizing inflatable technology with ambient air, potentially replacing polyurethane-based cushions. This project aims to validate the shock absorption capacity of the AIRGONOMIK cushion compared to standard polyurethane cushions. By doing so, it seeks to demonstrate the effectiveness of AIRGONOMIK in providing comfort and protection for athletes while reducing environmental impact. The project will involve learners with expertise in material physics to conduct a series of tests and analyses, ultimately contributing to the decarbonization efforts within the sports industry.

Deliverables

- Measure the shock absorption capacity of a standard polyurethane cushion.

- Measure the shock absorption capacity of an AIRGONOMIK cushion.

- Compare and highlight the differences in shock absorption capacity between the two types of cushions in terms of Newtons, Joules, and gravitational acceleration.

- Provide an assessment of the potential physiological protection offered by the AIRGONOMIK technology.
