Project feedback
During the 2-week, 30-hour project as part of the CAML Program – Cohort 5, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Fibra Inc. on the design and development of a smart wearable device for monitoring vaginal health. The experience working with Fibra’s leadership and project stakeholders was highly constructive and insightful. The team at Fibra Inc., particularly the founder and project lead, were clear in communicating their vision, objectives, and expectations for the product. They provided valuable input throughout the design process and were open to iterative feedback, allowing space for creative and engineering-driven exploration. Their openness to discussing technical limitations and user-centered considerations made the collaboration fluid and goal-oriented. Working under real-world constraints and responding to Fibra’s need for comfort-focused design, smooth finishes, and secure attachment mechanisms challenged us to balance technical precision with empathetic product development. This helped us develop a DEU that was not only functional and manufacturable but also aligned with Fibra's brand values and user goals. Overall, Fibra Inc. fostered a professional and collaborative environment, and I appreciated the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a product that has strong potential to improve women's health. The experience enhanced my ability to translate user requirements into functional designs while managing cost and manufacturability — an essential skillset for advanced manufacturing roles.
