Project Examples
Please provide a thorough description of your co-op/work term onboarding process (not your over all WIL experience) at your current organization/company, listing both positive and negative feedback (e.g. what you liked, what you didn't like, what you would have liked to see more of, etc.). When speaking about your experience, please refrain from using real names of people in order to protect their privacy and ensure confidentiality.
What is an "onboarding process", you may ask?
It's the act of integrating and familiarizing a new employee with their new organization and it may come in many forms (i.e. what did the organization do to introduce you to the organization, role, organizational culture, staff, other student employees?). Your onboarding process may or may not have included some version of the following:
- You were assigned a mentor throughout your co-op/work term
- You were given a manual/checklist to reference
- You attended meet-and-greets
- You participated in team building exercises
- You received company swag packages
- Your organization organized and hosted an orientation for all new (student) employees
- Your manager scheduled weekly touchpoints regarding your progress
Important Reminders for Students:
- Participation is optional.
- You must submit individual answers and are therefore not permitted to work in teams.
- Please make your "team name" your first and last name.
- Participation on this project counts as one discussion board submission for your WIL course.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
