Daily journals outlining accomplishments and contributions to the organization

Completed project/practicum work to a high professional standard

Where appropriate students will leave materials that will help the organization with information management into the future - may be policies, procedures, visual tools (e.g. blogs, webcasts, podcasts, ....)

Contributions to idea generation, as appropriate, in a confident and polite manner.

Project Examples

Records Management - all aspects of records management from classification to storage to distribution retention to deletion to privacy and use policies.

Web management - able to create or update/improve websites including blogs for internal (portals) and external use improving the display and efficiency of information

Research - utilizing online databases to do literature searches, or other types of information management research (includes blogs and other virtual information management tools)

Project management - particularly for projects requiring information management elements

Marketing and event planning - emphasis on information management for short-term events or marketing.

Information management - all elements of transitioning data to information to knowledge, to support decision making.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

A representative of the company will be available to answer questions from students in a timely manner for the duration of the project.

A representative of the company will be available for a pre-selection discussion with the administrator of the course to review the project scope.

A supervisor of the practicum/internship will provide a professional evaluation of the student's skills and contributions at the end of the practicum

A representative of the company will be available for a post practicum discussion with the administrator of the course to review how the practicum worked for the organization and potential future opportunities.
