Business Analysis students will gather data about an operational or systems process, prepare a report about that process, and map the current and future state (recommendations) of the process. Students have an excellent understanding of the entire business analysis core competencies such as stakeholder management, requirements analysis and management, business process mapping, analytics, and solution assessment. All students and projects are supervised by the capstone academic faculty.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Outcomes

The students will deliver:

  • A 1 hour presentation including Q&A detailing the solution and research via ZOOM or on-site depending on location
  • A comprehensive report (20+ pages) including theory, research, analysis and recommendations
  • 2 brief updates on the project process

Project Examples

Student projects can address a range of business analysis opportunities, including, but by no means limited to:

  • Develop a stakeholder engagement and management map for an industry project
  • Liaise with stakeholders to gather the requirements for operational or systems improvements
  • Assess the current state of an operational or systems process and make recommendations for process efficiencies
  • Map the current and future state of an operational or systems process using MS Visio
  • Create other visualizations such as context or data flow diagrams that represent the strengths and challenges of an operational or systems process
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Support and facilitate student access to key stakeholders to gather requirements.
