business consulting career development communication researchCapella University is launching course HRM 5100 (HRM Professional Internship) for learners in our Master's in Human Resources Management program. Our course participants will be required to spend a minimum of 15-20 hours per week working on internship-related duties in addition to their coursework, and learners who utilize Riipen will be seeking a project-based virtual internship. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.
Students are available for 100 hours of placement between September to December 2023.
HRM 5100 learners are looking for both paid and unpaid internships with a preference for paid experiences. Please indicate in your project submission which you are able to offer.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually.
Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project. To be discussed between the partner organization and academic internship coordinator.
Project Examples
Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.
Project examples that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:
- Benefits and compensation
- Training and development
- Recruiting
- Training to become a Human Rights Business Partner (HRBP.)....and more
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Provide ongoing support and mentorship to students throughout the internship. Students will interact virtually with their primary contact no less than once a week.
Be available for a quick phone/virtual call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the internship.
Provide a dedicated contact who will act as the student's primary supervisor over the duration of the virtual placement. A secondary contact should be provided as a backup.
