marketing mentorship zoom (video conferencing tool)Students from business-related fields are preferred. Participating in this project will help students mentor other students working on marketing projects.
Project will be executed in phases and students will be able to complete it asynchronously at their own pace.
NOTE: Phase 2 and Phase 3 are supposed to be completed simultaneously. Phase 1 and Phase 4 will be completed individually.
Phase 1: E-course Training Phase (about 30-35 hours)
- Students will be provided with recommended training modules in the form of multiple FREE marketing e-courses which can be completed at one's own pace and time.
- Students will provide a screenshot/certificate of completion for every course.
Phase 2: Mentorship (about 16 hours)
- Students will be required to provide mentorship to two students working on an employer marketing project.
- Mentorship is supposed to be in the form of a zoom call between the student mentor and their mentee.
- Duration: 1 hr/week for 6-8 weeks per student. (equates to 16 hours in total over the course of 6-8 weeks).
Phase 3: Applying for Jobs/Co-ops (about 8 hours):
- Students are required to apply for ATLEAST 10 marketing co-ops, part-time or full-time jobs while they mentor other students.
- Students can specify the skills they learnt via provided e-courses in Phase 1 in their cover letter and resume. They can also use their experience as a mentor in their cover letters/resume.
- Students will be assisted during this process including help with cover letter and resume.
Phase 4: Reflection, and Review (about 8 hours):
We want to hear about how our training modules of FREE e-courses helped you during the job application and mentorship. Students are asked to submit a PDF report in a proper format, which includes:
- A separate 200-300 word review of every included e-course within our training module, and whether or not the course assisted you while applying for jobs/co-ops during Phase 3. This part should focus on the relevance of e-course in your job/co-op application (be sure to mention if it didn't necessarily help).
- 50-100 word summary of pros and cons of every e-course.
- A general rating for every e-course (how many stars out of 5?).
- Difficulty level of every e-course (how many stars out of 5?).
- Job Assistance provided by every e-course (how many stars out of 5?).
