With a focus on supporting BIPOC, newcomers and women, the Green Career Centre works by and for these communities to bridge the gap between equitable, accessible and transparent social and environmental employment opportunities. With a climate justice lens and through ongoing consultations and focus groups, the Green Career Centre bridges the disconnect between these underserved communities and green careers in sustainability. We offer resources, events, and a strong network of support in order to integrate underserved communities into the green labour market in what is currently Canada.
Students will have several tasks to complete including:
- Cold calling vendors for the Green Career Fair
- Reaching our KPI of having at least 30 vendors confirmed
- Conducting outreach to vendors through professional platforms such as LinkedIn
- Researching business/corporate vendors in sustainability who would be interested in participating in our event
- Weekly office hours
- Weekly one hour check-in
- Ongoing mentorship and career coaching
