Details

This project aims to conduct a comprehensive market research study focused on identifying hiring and skills gaps among small businesses in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The goal is to gather data that will inform strategies to enhance hiring capacity and workforce skills development. By analyzing current hiring trends and identifying specific skill shortages, the project will provide valuable insights into the challenges faced by small businesses. Additionally, the research will explore various hiring incentives, such as Canada Summer Jobs, Wage Subsidy programs, and credit lending programs, that small businesses can leverage to support their hiring needs. The findings will be used to develop recommendations for partnerships and programs that can help bridge these gaps and support small businesses in their growth and development.

The Racialized Students is a registered non-profit organization. We launched in 2020 during the onset of the pandemic. We were founded to be a resource for Black and racialized students to partake in meaningful research training and networking opportunities that help them advance throughout their academic journey and career journey.

We achieve this through the provision of mentorship, research, and employment training opportunities.

Our mission is to increase the representation of Black people across interdisciplinary Health sectors and increase the rate of employment among Black youth through career advancement training.

We envision a safer and inclusive Toronto where all Torontonians particularly Black and racialized communities can access services and employment free from racism and discrimination.
