songwriting planning graphic design student engagement content creation social media podcasting research writingThe Hart House Hip Hop Education Program Facilitator will work closely with Hart House staff to support planning, delivery, and evaluation of our Lyricists' Lounge Program, which seeks to build community around songwriting, poetry, emceeing, and the craft of lyric-writing and self-expression. The Program Facilitator will provide research and planning to 3 main areas: 1) work with partners to co-create weekly or bi-weekly programming during the April - August 2023 timeframe ; 2) Co-facilitate in-person programming with partners, engaging students and community participants; and 3) supporting this and other programs with administrative, graphic, outreach, and content-creation support. This role will require the candidate to work in both in-person and virtual settings. ,Must be results driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Build relationships with student groups and community through online and in-person methods
- Determine topical areas for serial programming (i.e. thematic overview for sessions - 'lyrics as therapy', what makes a good song', etc.); recommend a variety of supporting programmatic materials (including music, lyric / text, videos, podcasts and other source material)
- Determine guest speakers, if applicable
- Provide a final program brief and overview, including learning outcomes and program objectives, specific to Summer 2023 program.
- Facilitate group events within an inclusive, equity-based framework
- Act as on-site content-creator, leveraging social media and graphic design abilities as appropriate
- Complete a final report, including recommendations on future initiative.
Hip Hop Education team members will provide ongoing mentorship, schedule weekly check-in meetings, and ad hoc meetings as needed.
Student will work directly with a designated HH staff member.
