Details

The main goal of this project is to teach introductory Python programming to girls between the age of 11 to 13. This will involve several different steps for the students, including:


- Learning the basics of Python programming.


- Developing an understanding of the fundamentals of programming.


- Exploring different applications of Python programming.


- Working on projects to apply their knowledge of Python programming.


- Learning good coding practices and debugging techniques.


Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:


- Understanding of the basics of Python programming.


- Ability to create simple programs using Python.


- Understanding of the fundamentals of programming.


- Ability to debug and troubleshoot code.


- Ability to apply their knowledge of Python programming to create projects.


Mentorship

As a learner completing this project with While She is True you will have access to live training by our current volunteers on understanding the curriculum content, teaching the students effectively and performing your other duties. You will also get access to all the resources that we have garnered through research and experience to aid you in the completion of this project.

While She is True (WST) is a non-profit that is dedicated to educating, empowering and encouraging young girls to explore and pursue technology. We achieve this goal using a threefold approach, the first being computer science education. The second involves mentoring from women in the technology field. Lastly, we provide technological resources such as laptops and other tech hardware to break any barriers that prevent girls from having the right technology to use and grow in the computer science space.
