Carbon Footprint Analysis for HAY! Straws
The main goal for the project is to understand the company and product carbon footprint of HAY! Straws, which specializes in making drinking straws from straw and plant stems, as well as bamboo cutlery. The focus will be on the carbon sequestration of the product and the overall carbon footprint of the company. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Gathering data on the materials used in the production of the straws and cutlery. - Analyzing the manufacturing process to determine the energy consumption and emissions. - Calculating the carbon sequestration potential of the materials used. - Assessing the transportation and distribution process to understand the carbon footprint. - Comparing the company's carbon footprint to industry benchmarks and standards. - Providing recommendations for reducing the carbon footprint and increasing carbon sequestration.
