Thank you to the student team of Bipin, Ishan, Melony, Paul, Varandeep, Yogesh and Zahida for the excellent report and presentation and their instructor Renata for organizing this cross-functional team. As a volunteer run organization, our most valuable resources are time and people. The students did an incredible job researching and analyzing all vendor options for CCHA merchandising, culminating in a well executed presentation. We appreciate all the hard work of the students, their efforts have eliminated months of work for our board and have moved us leaps and bounds forward in our mission to support Canadian living with Congenital Heart Disease.

Our team was very impressed with the student cohort that has worked on this for us. Renata and her students really put in a lot of time and effort to bring us a detailed report. Their research is valuable and will allow us to make better decisions for our Organization moving forward. I appreciated the group being so thorough and indepent which required very little supervision from us, their Community Partner.

Merchandise Sourcing

Summary You will source a Canadian company that has the ability to print, package, and ship merchandise direct-to-consumer using our logo and branding. This endeavor will become a new source of fundraising for our Charity. Click the links below to see examples of other Nonprofit Organizations who have implemented this: https://lung-health-foundation.myshopify.com/ https://www.bonfire.com/adult-congenital-heart-association/ *Please note: many of the examples we have seen are using USA-based companies like Printful or Bonfire, which is not a realistic service provider for CCHA. Company Canadian Congenital Heart Alliance (CCHA) The Canadian Congenital Heart Alliance (CCHA) is a national, volunteer-run registered charitable organization advocating on behalf of children and adults living with congenital heart disease (CHD). Mission: We advocate for and enrich the lives of people with CHD through awareness, education, research and support. Vision: To be the leading voice for enriching the lives of Canadians with CHD. Value Statement: Building a dedicated CHD community that fosters compassion, empowerment and collaboration. 1 in 100 babies are born with a congenital heart defect. Over 250,000 Canadians live with CHD. Sadly, there is no cure, many will require specialized, life-long cardiac care. At least half face the prospect of multiple surgeries and/or premature death, psycho-social challenges brought on by their condition, such as anxiety, depression, isolation and financial hardship. Fewer resources are available than other cardiac patients and CHD research is underfunded. Project Scope Our organization is able to offer an opportunity for 1-2 students or one team. Project Objective Research reputable apparel companies that are located in Canada. Price out various items or service offerings. Create a final recommendation or list of Top 3 companies that would best suit our needs, including: List their location, website, best contact person, contact information, price list, price ranges, options, available customizations, customer reviews, etc. Research Eco-friendly and ethically made options Create a cost analysis and identify pricing of items, profit amounts, etc. Compose messaging that will be used for a merch design contest Create accompanying graphics, and... Engaging social media posts for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter Email copy that will be sent to members to announce the merchandise design contest Webpage copy to help us display the new CCHA Merchandise Our goal at the end of this experience is: To end up with a recommendation for a reputable Canadian based printing and merchandise fulfillment company. Gain the ability to create more funding for CCHA through our very own line of merchandise. Engage our followers and members to participate in a Merch Design Contest where we will ultimately select a winner who will win the chance to have their design displayed on our new t-shirts. Maximize our fundraising results. Other duties the student may complete could include : Identify potential t-shirt printing services or merchandise suppliers that will enable us to sell t-shirts, tank tops, sweaters, bandanas, masks, stickers, etc. Create social media copy for the design contest CCHA will run on our platforms to implement a unique design from our members and community.
