As such, it enjoys a respected national and international reputation and is recognized by leading employers. The Workplace and Wellness Health Promotion program will prepare students to promote the total well-being of individuals and groups within corporate and community contexts. If you have a health and wellness related project, bring on one or more students to be your virtual interns for 14 weeks to help. Students are available for 462 hours of placement over 14 weeks, beginning January 2025. The placements are on an unpaid basis. Recreation Business Innovation

This experience is designed for learners in the Business of Recreation & Entrepreneurship program, where they gain insights into the recreation industry's business dynamics and entrepreneurial strategies. Collaborate with Future Mobile App Developers
MAPD 726
Learners in Centennial College's Mobile Application Development Project course focus on developing their skills in mobile app design, agile methodologies, and project management while addressing real-world challenges. They seek to enhance their abilities in teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication throughout the project. Students are required to work in teams of 4-5 to design and implement a complete mobile app (native app, hybrid app, React Native, or mobile web app) and create the artifact design by applying agile software development methodologies and project management principles. Employers are expected to provide regular communication, guidance, and essential information related to the project. They will also be invited to attend the final presentation and provide constructive feedback on the students' work via the Riipen platform.
Collaborative Aerospace Innovation with Centennial College Students

Centennial College's Advanced Aerospace Project course empowers learners in their final year to design and develop prototypes relevant to the aerospace industry. These students have engineering knowledge and skills in project management, teamwork, and advanced manufacturing processes. The course aims to cultivate initiative and creativity while preparing them for real-world challenges in aerospace. Through this collaboration, employers can guide and mentor future engineers while benefiting from innovative solutions tailored to industry needs. Employers are expected to maintain regular communication with learners, providing guidance and necessary project information. Additionally, employers should be available for the final presentation and offer constructive feedback to the student teams through the Riipen platform.
AI Capstone Collaboration for Real-World Solutions

Centennial College’s AI Capstone Project learners collaborate to research, design, and develop AI-driven applications that solve real-world problems. They bring expertise in AI techniques and data analysis to deliver innovative and scalable applications integrated with AI capabilities. Throughout this experience, students will develop their skills in ethical AI practices, advanced programming, and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Students will primarily focus on building end-to-end AI solutions and capabilities and proof of concepts. Students may have limited UX/UI, front-end/back-end development, cloud deployment, etc. capabilities. Employers engaging in this collaboration are expected to provide regular communication and guidance, share relevant project information, attend a virtual final presentation, and offer constructive feedback on the project progress and final demonstration using the Riipen platform. Employers are expected to provide data with full metadata, and clean data for the projects as much as possible.
Technical and Help Desk Support

Centennial College's Customer Skills course prepares first-year students with the essential knowledge and skills to excel in Level 1 and Level 2 technical support roles in helpdesk environments. Learners are trained in user interaction, multi tier incident management problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, using industry-standard Incident Management help desk applications like LBE Help Desk Software. The course focuses on developing the technical and business skills required for entry-level user support roles. Learners aim to build proficiency in troubleshooting, customer communication, and workload management while gaining hands-on experience working with real-world problems. Employers participating in this collaboration are expected to engage in regular communication with students, provide necessary project information, be present during the final presentation, and offer constructive feedback through the Riipen platform. This feedback will guide learners in refining their technical support and customer service abilities.
Collaborate on Software Development Solutions
COMP 313
Centennial College invites employers to partner with final-year Software Engineering Technology students through the Software Development Project 2 capstone course. Students will work in teams to design and implement a complete application or game and the project must make use of enterprise tools to build enterprise-level data integration. Interactive Gaming students will develop a game, and Health Informatics students will select a project that focuses on healthcare information systems. This course emphasizes skills in communication, problem-solving, project documentation, and user-focused solutions, ensuring students are well-prepared for industry challenges. Employers are expected to maintain regular communication, offer project guidance, provide relevant information, attend the final presentation virtually, and deliver constructive feedback through the Riipen platform.

Learners in this experience are enrolled in various Software and Systems Development Programs. This experience aims to source appropriate projects for these students interested in securing experiential learning projects during their final year at Centennial College. Students are enrolled in: Software Engineering Technology Software Engineering Technician Artificial Intelligence - Software Engineering Technology Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer and Communication Networks) Computer Systems Technician - Networking Game – Programming Health Informatics Technology Students in these programs generally apply programming skills to create, maintain, test and edit website, applications, mobile apps, and databases. As students in their senior years, they have ‘full stack’ skills to support both frontend and backend development with a foundational understanding of cloud computing, APIs, and software security. Health Informatics Technology students may also have strengths in data privacy and best practices for working with sensitive data.

We are inviting employers to collaborate with Centennial College students through the WILwork program to develop websites. This initiative aims to create Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities for our students, allowing them to apply their skills in real-world scenarios related to their program of study. Centennial students from the software engineering programs are skilled in various aspects of website development, including front-end and back-end programming, UX/UI design, and content management. In this course, our students from Centennial College have been introduced to a broad range of business concepts, practices and theories relevant to today’s global business environment. Students have examined the interrelationship among functional areas of a business enterprise; specifically, human resources, operations management, marketing and sales, and accounting and finance. Students have developed an understanding of how these functional areas of business are impacted as the economy, technology, global competition, and consumer decision making continue to evolve. Throughout this course students have developed and enhanced their ability to work effectively in teams, conduct research, analyze cases, and will begin to develop the skills and confidence requisite to delivering professional business presentations. These essential business skills have prepared our students for the professional demands of working on a project with your organization.

Could your Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) or Non-Profit Organization use some help from our students? Bring on students from the International Development Post-Graduate Certificate Co-op Program at Centennial College (linked here) to be your virtual or in-person interns in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the placement period. Would you and/or your agency be interested and able to supervise our students? Students are required to complete 280 hours of placement between January - April 2022. The School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (SHTCA) at Centennial College believes that students develop and hone their skills when exposed to hands on learning. By completing a project for or participating in virtual placement with an Employer Partner, you are providing our students the opportunity to start their careers with tremendous momentum. Students from the Food & Beverage Management diploma program have been prepared with the job skills for success in the restaurant and food service industry and the leadership skills for a progressive career. Students from the Hospitality - Hotel Operations Management diploma program have the business skills and acumen to work in a wide range of areas within this multifaceted industry. Among these areas will be front desk management, housekeeping operations, food and beverage management, and human resources planning.
