Students in this course understand the key concepts, practical tools and practices of strategic planning and management techniques (e.g. SWOT analysis) to help the educational organisation identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats related to the offering of specific business courses offered in the tertiary education system. This unit provides the scaffolding that bridges the core principles of strategic management covered in the business courses in a more in-depth way. The unit is taught from the perspective of a strategy manager who makes decisions about Business Course offerings in a tertiary education setting Students will use their own educational journey to do a thorough analysis utilising tools to provide strategic recommendations around the value and potentials of the course that students are familiar/undertaking to suit their career path. Students focus on the strategic management aspects including SWOT analysis of the course and provision of strategic recommendations for uplifting the course offering in their area of specialisation.
